The Great Wall is very crowded. Most of our pictures have lots of other people in the shots. This is a popular destination. To get the best pictures of Connor, we needed less people. This means hiking farther along the wall than most people are willing to go.
After more than an hour, we finally found a less populated area. Once there, we asked the few other people there to help with pictures. Eventually, we were the only people at this section of The Great Wall. We took a few minutes to enjoy the moment and started to move forward. This is when things got interesting.
There was no forward to go. Climbing down the next set of steps yieled a dead end. The only thing to do was go back. We could see other people on later sections of the wall. How did they get there?
Along the walk back, we continued to enjoy the solitude and took lots of pictures. Eventually we could see the branch along the wall we should have taken.
And then we saw the Chinese Police Officer.
The Police Officer was waiting for us at the bottom of the steps. We hiked down and he opened a closed barrier to let us through to the main area. Fortunately, we were allowed to continue our adventures.
